Any Teaches Sangit Som to the 6th's book: Javed Akhtar
Veteran writer and songwriter Javed Akhtar has sharply criticized Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Sangit Som for 'ignorance of history' in Uttar Pradesh. Sangit Som had told the Taj Mahal in the seven wonders of the world as 'a scar on Indian culture', on which Javed took him in his arms.
A video became viral on the social media While Sangit Som addressing a public meeting on wednesday is being heard saying that 'Taj Mahal is a scar on Indian culture because it has been Constructed by a ruler who wanted to destroy the Hindus.'
In its response, Javed said in a tweet, "Sangit Som's ignorance about history is really amazing (honorable) to a Huge (monumental). Please give someone a book in the sixth grade history. It has been clearly stated that Dr Thomas Roe, who came to India during the era of Jahangir, had written that the level of an Indian's average lifestyle is better than the lifestyle of an Englishman.
He wrote, "What throws me into surprise is that those who hate Akbar are not a problem with Clive. Those who hate Jahangir do not even mention hastings."
Millions of Indian and foreign tourists visit every year to showcase the beauty of the Taj Mahal, which is considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Under the settlement of the controversy over the Taj Mahal, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said, "We should not pay attention to the statement of Som."
This statement of the Chief Minister clearly showed that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh wants to keep itself separate from the controversial statement of the legislator. Adityanath said that Taj is extremely important for the Government of Uttar Pradesh, especially keeping tourism in mind. Therefore, it is their government's responsibility to provide facilities and security to tourists here. Chief Minister Adityanath can visit Taj Mahal, Fatehpur Sikri and other historic sites in Agra on October 26. An official informed about this to IANS.
