Indian Army orders court of inquiry against Major Litul Gogoi

Indian Army has ordered the Court of Inquiry against Major Nitin Litul Gogoi. After further investigation, further action will be taken. Earlier, Indian army chief Bipin Rawat said today that if Major Litul Gogoi is found guilty of any crime, he will be given a severe punishment. According to a police officer, on May 23, when Major Gogoi was trying to enter in the Hotel Grand Mamta with a minor Kashmiri girl of Budgam in Srinagar, the police had detained him for a while after complained by the hotel.

Army Chief Rawat told reporters at Pahalgam while going to Army Goodwill School, "If any officer of Indian Army is found guilty of any crime, we will take strict action." He said, "If Major Gogoi has done something wrong, then I assure you that he will be punished as soon as possible. This sentence will set a precedent."

Jammu-Kashmir Police has started investigating this incident related to Gogoi. A dispute arose over Major Gogoi's decision because of tied a Kashmiri youth on the bonnet of his vehicle in Kashmir last year. Later, Major Gogoi was given a clean chit and the government had also given an award to Gogoi.
