Mamata Banerjee Warning to RSS, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad: Do Not Play with Fire
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has warned RSS and its affiliated organizations (Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad) that they should not try to spoil the environment during Durga puja.
Mamta has said that it will be like 'playing with fire'. Actually, one day earlier, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had said that they would organize arms poojan (worship) throughout the state.
On such arms poojan programs, Mamta has ordered the police to ban it. Last month, Mamta had instructed the police that there should not be Bijoy Dashami in the state anywhere.
Mamta said that her government has not kept any ban on celebrating the Vijaya Dashmi festival. She said, "Some organizations are spreading wrong information that we are blocking the celebration of Vijaya Dashmi in Pooja Pandals and Homes."
She said, "We had said that October 1 will not be immersed in the statue on Ekadashmi. The Muharram Muslim community has the opportunity to mourn that which is happening on the same day. Statue immersion will run from October 2 to 4."
They said, "Women will apply vermilion to each other and the festival of Vijaya Dashmi will be celebrated as before. Those people who do not know about Durgapuja and Kali worship in Bengal are spreading such rumors."
Mamta said that her government is determined to maintain peace and harmony during the upcoming Durgapuja festival.
She said that RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal should not disturb peace and should not play with fire.
She said that in Bengal, Durgapuja is traditionally celebrated with cordiality, where millions of people celebrate this festival on the streets.
She said, "If anybody tries to disturb peace, then the administration will take strong action."
Mamata said, "BJP should not do politics by using CBI, ED and riots."
The Chief Minister said that the police had recently failed a BJP effort to spread communal disturbances at one place in the state and arrested two members of it.
The Chief Minister said that her administration will not allow the immersion procession with arms in the state.
Mamata said, "It is illegal and such procession has not been in the tradition of Bengal and we will not allow this to happen."
She said, "If an attempt is made such a procession, then the administration will take strong action."
They also appealed to members of the Muslim community to made the Muharram procession peacefully.
The Mamta Banerjee government was in the headlines last month too. Then it was ordered from them that after six o'clock in the evening, the statue of Durga can not be immersed.
This was said because Durga Puja is on 30th September and on October one Muharram. The BJP had openly opposed it.
But now the state government has made it clear in the Calcutta High Court that by the time of 10 o'clock the statue can be immersed. On October 1, there is a ban on statue immersion. But two are allowed again.
