Nobel Prize winning economist Mohammad Yunus has been made the chief advisor of the interim government in Bangladesh.

After Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left the country, the army chief addressed the nation and talked about forming an interim government.

The President's press secretary has told that Nobel Prize winning economist Mohammad Yunus has been made the head of the interim government of Bangladesh.

This decision has been taken after a meeting between the President, the Army and the students.

Mohammad Yunus has said that when the students who have sacrificed so much are asking me to lead in this difficult time, how can I refuse.

On Tuesday, 6 August 2024, former Bangladesh Foreign Minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Hasan Mahmud was taken into custody at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

Earlier, former Bangladesh State Minister of Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak was also detained from the airport.
