Jean-Luc Mélenchon, leader of the left-wing coalition New Popular Front in the French parliamentary elections, has said that his coalition will recognize the State of Palestine.
In the recent past, four countries of Europe - Spain, Norway, Ireland and Slovenia have recognized the Palestinian state.
In the second and final phase of elections held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the New Popular Front is leading with 182 seats and its role in the upcoming government is going to be prominent.
Jean-Luc Mélenchon said that the next Prime Minister will be from the New Popular Front.
In the first phase of elections held a week ago, the far-right party National Rally was moving towards a majority, but in the second and final phase held on Sunday, July 7, 2024, it was reduced to third place.
French President Macron's centrist coalition came in second place.
After the trends of the French parliamentary elections came out, violence was seen at some places in the capital Paris. While on the other hand, leftist supporters have been taking out victory processions on the streets of Paris in large numbers since the night of Sunday, July 7, 2024.
