Offensive comments on Scheduled Castes: In Rajasthan protests against Salman

In Rajasthan's capital, Jaipur, protesters Tearing the posters of film 'Tiger Jinda Hai' out of a cinema hall and handed them over to the fire.

Protesters have alleged that actor Salman Khan has made derogatory remarks against the scheduled caste community in a TV show. In view of this, the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has also asked the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Delhi Police and Commissioner of Mumbai Police to respond within seven days.

In this case, a complaint has been lodged against Bollywood actor Salman Khan and actress Shilpa Shetty.

The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has asked all parties to seek Action Taken Report under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Prevention Act 2015.

This notice has been issued after receiving the complaint written by Harnam Singh, former president of the Delhi Safai Karmachari Commission. Harnam Singh has said in his complaint that in the TV show, Bollywood actor and actress have used the word 'Bhangi' which is an insult to Valmiki society spread all over the world.

When Salman Khan came to promote his new movie 'Tiger Jinda Hai' in a TV show, then he used this term while speaking about his choreography. After this Shilpa Shetty repeated it also.
