Relief in lockdown in Chennai from Monday

Relief in these restrictions is being given since Monday in the districts where full lockdown was imposed, including Chennai in Tamil Nadu.

On Saturday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Palaniswami announced that relief was being given to the lockdown of Chennai from July 6.

He also informed that grocery and vegetable shops in the city will remain open for 12 hours.

Earlier on June 19, the state government had imposed a 12-hour strict lockdown in three other districts of Tamil Nadu besides Chennai.

On the other hand, there was a complete lockdown on Sunday in Kalburgi and Hubli districts of Karnataka.

The decision was taken in view of increasing cases of corona infection in these areas of Karnataka.

On Tuesday, the Karnataka government decided to implement a full lockdown for every Sunday till August 2.
