
India win by 141 runs on Sri Lanka
India defeated Sri Lanka by 141 runs in the second ODI played at IS Bindra Stadium on Wednesday. India had a huge challenge of 393 runs against Sri Lanka on the double century of captain Rohit Sharma (208).
The hosts were restricted to 251 runs at the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs in front of this mountain-like target. With this, India has equalized 1-1 in the three ODIs.
Sri Lanka took the lead in 1-0 in the first match played at Dharamsala by defeating India by seven wickets.
Angelo Mathews scored 111 runs for Sri Lanka. He returned unbeaten on 132 balls with nine fours and three sixes. Apart from them, Asela Gunaratne scored 34 runs. Leg-spinner Yujavendra Chahal took three wickets from India. Jaspreet Bumrah took two wickets. Bhubaneswar Kumar, Hardik Pandya, Washington Sunder got one success.
Earlier, India had scored a huge score of 392 runs for four wickets after batting first, thanks to Rohit's third double century. Apart from Rohit, Shreyas Iyer, who played his second ODI match, 88 and opener Shikhar Dhawan scored a half-century of 67 runs.
