The Indian cricket team left for the West Indies tour on June 20 without coach Anil Kumble. Now the senior BCCI official Rajiv Shukla has made it clear that before the Sri Lanka tour, the team will get a new coach. He said that the BCCI made best efforts on its behalf to resolve this issue. The Working Secretary and the CEO discussed this matter with Kumble and Kohli in detail. The Board also got the suggestion from COA Chairman Vinod Rai. Attempts were made to resolve the issue, but in the end there was no result and Kumble decided to step down.

Kumble also said after resigning from the post that a day earlier I came to know with the BCCI that the captain has problems with my style and he does not want to keep me as a coach. I was surprised by this because I always respected the line between the captain and the coach. Although the BCCI tried to resolve the dispute between me and the captain, but it was clear that the partnership is not going to run, so I believe that I should step down from the post.

According to the BCCI, last week a meeting of BCCI's Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), which was attended by Saurav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and V V S Laxman, was held in London to look for a new coach.

According to the BCCI, in this meeting, Ganguly, Tendulkar and Laxman discussed on the appointment of new coach two hours, but after this they told BCCI Chief Executive Officer Rahul Johri that they needed more time to select the coach.
