Mehbooba said after the resignation, there should be talks with Pakistan for peace in the valley

Mehbooba Mufti spoke to the reporters after handing over the resignation of Governor NN Vohra to Jammu and Kashmir. She said that she had joined hands with BJP to remove the public from trouble. Once again, there has been a political instability in Jammu and Kashmir. After withdrawing support from the coalition government of the BJP, Mehbooba Mufti sent her resignation to the governor for the post of Chief Minister. Along with that, Mehbooba has called a meeting of the PDP this evening.

On the other hand, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that what happened in the state was good. Congress will not make any government with PDP at any cost.

At the same time National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said that he will not support any coalition and the supports governor the rule. Omar Abdullah said that the elections will be held in Jammu and Kashmir as soon as possible.

Responding to BJP's support from the PDP government, Shiv Sena has expressed its reaction and said it is natural. Shiv Sena spokesman Sanjay Raut said that this coalition was anti-national and unnatural. Our party chief had said that this coalition will not move forward. If they keep this coalition going forward, they have to answer in the 2019 elections.

Funeral of Shujaat Bukhari, Editor of Rising Kashmir in Jammu & Kashmir

Shujaat Bukhari, the editor of the English newspaper 'Rising Kashmir', was buried to his native village today and thousands of people participated in his funeral. Unidentified gunmen shot him dead outside the newspaper office yesterday.

Despite heavy rains, in this village of Baramulla district thousands of people were walking along with the last journey of Bukhari with damp eyes. In his native village joining the last journey of Bukhari, Opposition leader Omar Abdullah and the PDP and the BJP ministers were also involved. Jammu and Kashmir sex scandal: 5 people sentenced to 10 years

A CBI court in India has sentenced five persons, including a former DIG of Border Security Force (BSF) to 10 years in the 2006 Jammu and Kashmir sex scandal case. The sentence was pronounced by Special CBI Judge Gagangeet Kaur.

The persons who have been sentenced. They include K C Padhi, former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of BSF, former Deputy Inspector General of Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Maqsood Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed Langu and Shabir Ahmed Lavay.

The court also imposed a penalty of one lakh rupees on KC Padhi and Mohammad Ashraf Mir. If they do not pay the fine, they will have to suffer an additional rigorous imprisonment for one year. The court also imposed a penalty of fifty thousand rupees on Maqsood Ahmed, Shabir Ahmed Langu and Shabir Ahmed Lavay, and if they do not pay them then they will have to suffer further imprisonment for six months. The court had convicted the five on May 30 in the case.

The court acquitted two convicts, including the then Solicitor general of Jammu and Kashmir. In Jammu and Kashmir, sex scandal was made headlines in 2006, when the Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered two CDs in which Kashmiri minor girls were shown sexually harassing. These five persons were convicted under section 376 of the Penal Code.

The main accused, Sabina and her husband Abdul Hamid Bulla, who allegedly used to run a brothel, died during their hearing. During the investigation Jammu and Kashmir Police prepared a list of 56 suspects for alleged involvement in sex scandal, which included some high profile people. The case was handed over to the CBI in 2006, when there were also names of some ministers.

Later this year, the Supreme Court had transferred the case to Chandigarh. The then Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, submitted his resignation in 2009, when an opposition leader linked him to this matter. The Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, however, did not accept his resignation.

Indian Army orders court of inquiry against Major Litul Gogoi

Indian Army has ordered the Court of Inquiry against Major Nitin Litul Gogoi. After further investigation, further action will be taken. Jammu-Kashmir Police has started investigating this incident related to Gogoi. A dispute arose over Major Gogoi's decision because of tied a Kashmiri youth on the bonnet of his vehicle in Kashmir last year. Later, Major Gogoi was given a clean chit and the government had also given an award to Gogoi.

Farooq Abdullah's Attack on RSS-BJP, Will now be Opposed on a Large Scale

Farooq Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, attacked the Center's Modi government. On Monday (August 7th) Farooq said that BJP and RSS together want to end the autonomy of Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu and Kashmir: Indian security Forces Killed Two Terrorists in Kulgam

There has been an encounter between militants and security forces in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Two militants were killed today in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir.

"Two militants were killed in an encounter with security forces this morning in Gopalpora area of Kulgam," a police official said.

He said that one of the killed terrorists was involved in the case of looting cash from a bank van on May 1 in Kulgam.

Five policemen and two security guards of the bank were killed in this incident.

The encounter between militants and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir has ended. Security forces have killed all the terrorists in Hakkirpora village of Pulwama district of south Kashmir.

Lashkar commander Abu Dujana has also been killed in this encounter. According to the news agency ANI, the police has confirmed the killing of Abu Dujana of Pakistan, who was also the commander of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiyyaba, in the encounter.
